Here's how it works:
Plan your garden and plant a little extra to donate at harvest time.
Pick up a Free Starter Kit (not required) at Country Way while supplies last, starting on Earth Day, our opening day.
Shop for all your garden needs at Country Way Garden Center. (seeds, plants, gloves, compost, fertilizers, etc.)
Tend your garden! Watch your garden grow! Know that you are growing good food for your family and others.
At harvest time, drop off your donated produce to one of the locations below.

How to donate your extra produce at harvest time:
Drop off your extra produce at one of these locatons:
1. Country Way Garden Center- we are a collection point. We have arranged pick-ups by FoodLink twice a week during harvest. Bring you produce in on Sundays or Thursdays to co-incide with their pick-up days.
2. FoodLink's downtown warehouse- contact the warehouse to arrange a drop off (328-3380) during their business hours (Mon-Fri 8am-4:30pm) They are located at936 Exchange Street, Rochester (click here for the FoodLink website)
3. Freshwise Farm- contact the farm to arrange drop-off (872-7303) during their business hours. The farm is located at 1345 Penfield Center Road, Penfield. (click here for the Freshwise website)

Country Way Garden Center is the Greater Rochester Area Chapter of the 'Plant-A-Row for the Hungry' Campaign, launched by the Garden Writers Association in 1995 to help feed the hungry in local neighborhoods and communties. www.gardenwriters.org We have partnered with Foodlink to coordinate bringing garden fresh produce grown in backyard across the area to those most in need of this nutritious harvest.
